Stunning Travel Photo Finalists Capture Breathtaking Scenes from Across the Globe

The Intrepid Travel competition recently ended after a long 12 months of spectacular images. With a new theme each month, travelers from across the globe were invited to submit their best shots, both professional and amateur, resulting in an album of stunning travel photo finalists that included an inspired mix of optical wanderlust.


The site noted they had over 7000 submissions from 3000 photographers based all over the world: “from mud-splattered water buffalo in Chonburi and shafts of light in Marrakech to Swiss mountains worthy of a screensaver and The Taj like we’d never seen it before.”


Picking an overall winner obviously wasn’t an easy task, as the site stated, “It’s like arguing why your favorite color should dominate the rainbow.”


The winner, pictured above, was Sujan Sarkar wit his “subtle whimsy and moody colors in a riverside shot in Cooch Behar, India. Cooch Behar is in the Indian state of West Bengal, tucked n the foothills of the Eastern Himalayas.
